You’d assume I was thinking of something really complex, when in reality I was just trying to figure out what I was going to have for dinner. . . Then I thought about my insulin levels an hour after my meal, glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and glycogenesis. Which then led me to go over all of the peptide hormones, steroid hormones, and tyrosine derivatives and what they do. Welcome to my thought process.

You’d be surprised how often students ask, “What's the best #premed major?” or “What major will increase my chances of getting into #medicalschool?” ⁣ ⁣ I don’t think they actually believe me when I tell them to major in whatever they want.⁣ ⁣ You should major in something that excites you, not something you think will look good to medical schools. ⁣ ⁣ Find a major you'll be passionate about, so you can take the upper-level classes and be excited to do more than the bare minimum work. ⁣ ⁣ Find a major you'll be able to talk about passionately in your medical school interviews.⁣ ⁣ Liberal arts majors are great for med school. Being smart isn't the limiting factor in becoming a physician. It comes down to being a hard worker and being willing to devote yourself to this.⁣ ⁣ That's why it's so important to know why you're doing this. Moving around certainly helps in terms of motivation. Especially when the views are adorable. Also... In a coffee shop, I’ve got strangers holding me accountable for my studying. Gotta make Becky in the corner over there proud.

Throwback to when I actually had the time to look cute... On a different note, I’m about a month out from my MCAT and it still hasn’t hit me yet that I’m taking it. I’m about six chapters away from being done with content review, but there’s still so much practice to be done. I take my next full length practice exam on Friday. Hopefully I’ve improved my score like I have the last two times. Pray 4 me pls.
