I’ve been to Blackwater Falls State Park quite a few times in my life but this is the first time I’ve seen it with this much volume. Yesterday's sunrise at Dolly Sods, West Virginia. The Dolly Sods is a magical place, being a high plateau on the eastern edge of the Monongahela National Forest with endless views to the east, and features a collection of flora and fauna typically found in climates much further north. The red spruce take on a deformed, yet beautiful appearance, as they all have their branches facing east and are mostly barren on their western faces, due to the relentless high winds that sweep over the plateau. Well, Milky Way season is officially underway! Love it! Couldn’t wait for warmer weather. Now all I have to do is convince the people of Fayettville to turn off all the lights. . Shot at 20mm (although cropped in processing), f/2.2, sky 10 shots at 10 seconds stacked at ISO 6400, foreground, 1 shot at f 4.5 for 120 seconds at ISO 3200. Scene then blended. #milkywayszn
